The chinese translation of comfort zone is comfort 'circle'. The comfort zone is like a circle, inside the circle is comfort and ease, outside the circle is unknow and fear.
Life in the circle of comfort is framed within the circle, maintaining a superficial comfort that is distorted and not really comfortable. It reminds me of the fisheye lens of a camera, where the view in the fisheye lens is framed within a distorted aperture.
So I tried to use the fisheye lens on my camera to take photo.
I took photos of myself showing the anxious state when staying in the comfort zone.
I was constantly overlaying and squeezing these images, making them like patterns refracted through a kaleidoscope.
Then I printed patterns on acetate paper.
And the acetate paper make these patterns look like an x-ray, expressing my scrutiny of my state of being in my comfort zone.
