I wanted my installation to visualise the comfort zone and convey the concept of my theme - the comfort zone dilemma. Therefore I wanted the installation to feel safe and comfortable while at the same time depressing and uncomfortable.
Therefore, I chose to use quilts and cotton to represent the feeling of comfort and safety, and twisted red threads to represent blockades and restrictions, and red frames to represent the boundaries of a self-drawn comfort zone.
Based on these, I designed the style of the final installation, which will consist of a red square frame, red thread, tattered quilts, cotton and a projector screen.
The final installation looks like both a bed and a cage.
