Book Design Process 05

s2345276

I began to make the layout of the forth chapter.

In this chapter I explored how to slove the comfort zone dilemma. I read some books about comfort zone and growth, and I did research about them.

1. Cognitive Awakening by Lin Zhou

Good growth is always wandering on the boundaries of your comfort zone.

I tried to visualize self-growth process.

Traditional growth process

However, through my experience and research, I found that in reality, the process of moving from the comfort zone to a growth zone may not be linear. Peaks, troughs, and plateaus often complicate the journey. Sometimes, we even need to retreat to the comfort zone periodically before mustering the strength to leave again.

So I made my own self-growth process:

2 . Comfort Zone by Matt Haig

Yes, sure, it is comfortable to be on the inside. Sheltered, protected. But there is a comfort to the outside too. Because outside is freedom. Outside you can keep moving until you find a place of your own. Or you can decide that outside is your place. And stay there.

Then I try to visualize the concept of inside and outside

I was inspired by this image.

Positive and negative shape idea

I want to use the positive and negative shape to reveal the nature behind the comfort zone. When people are inside their comfort zone they are in a positive shape, and the outside world is blank to them and they can only see the world inside their comfort zone. But when people are out of their comfort zone and in a negative shape, they will find that the outside world is much wider and richer.

Focusing on the nature of our comfort zone can help us achieve self-growth and find a real path for ourselves, so that we feel we are making progress, doing what we love, free from external pressures and truly living for ourselves.

Then I made the layout of forth chapter.
